A private investigator can conduct a wide range of investigations in response to different needs.
Among these, there is not only the classic tracing of evidence of marital infidelity, but also the tracing of missing persons, the collection of evidence to be used in court in various fields, the identification of the assets of an insolvent debtor, the monitoring of possible absenteeism in the workplace, the verification of the proper use of permits provided by law 104, industrial counterespionage, etc.
The type of investigation, along with other factors, contributes to determining its cost.

In fact, there are several factors that contribute to estimating the price of a private investigation.
These are:

  • the complexity of the investigation;
  • the extension of the territory in which the activities develop;
  • the number of days required to conduct the research;
  • the resources useful for obtaining each useful piece of evidence;
  • the number of operators involved in the investigative process;
  • the number of vehicles potentially used to carry out investigative tasks;
  • the equipment used.

The investigations are divided into several main categories:

  • investigations in the corporate field (industrial counterespionage, verification of the loyalty of an employee/executive/partner, collection of evidence to be used in court regarding the disloyalty of competing companies, environmental/vehicle/telephone equipment sweeps, etc.);
  • investigations in the private sector (marital infidelity, tracing missing persons, monitoring minors' associations, child custody, stalking, etc.);
  • the defensive investigations that the defense attorney can entrust to an investigator with a specific license;
  • investigations in the insurance field;
  • commercial investigations (inventory shortages, thefts in commercial activities, etc.).

By law, every investigative agency is also required to prominently display in their office the table indicating the professional fee schedule (hourly rates for employed operators) filed with the local Prefecture.

The AIRO Investigative Institute holds the following investigative licenses, issued by the Prefecture of Brescia:

  • Corporate investigations;
  • Private investigations;
  • Investigations in the Insurance Sector;
  • Commercial Information.

When a client contacts us, it is our rule to meet them for a free and non-binding consultation, during which we will proceed to:

  • case analysis;
  • provide advice to the client;
  • study the feasibility of the investigative activity related to the case presented;
  • draw up a detailed work plan with an indication of the investigative methods and the related estimate.

It is therefore impossible to say in advance how much a private investigator costs because, as explained, it will first be necessary to plan the activity, foresee the territorial scope, the execution methods, the number of operators employed, the estimated hours, the equipment, and the vehicles used.
